Moon Shadows

When we changed residence to a high hill years ago, I was awakened in the late hour by a giant flashlight in the sky, beaming directly into the window. Moonlight had painted the trees and lawn a silvery glow. I watched the mysterious companion of the sun glide steadily across the skies.

Living on a mountaintop, the stars and moon seem nearer and easier to view... and so I would often study and photograph the moon in its curious and moody phases.

And when I move away, here’s hoping the moon will follow me. From the mountain crest the wonderful moon was so close, lighting a path through the forest of silent memories.
