Welcome! Mallard Parables features the musings and melodies of GS Gilmer.
While navigating through the rapid currents of change, there is inspiration to be found —from — of all creatures — the Mallard duck who is always adaptable and flexible. The ability to adapt and change guides this platform.
A duck has the capability to walk, fly, swim either solo or in formation with a group, and to change its direction swiftly, depending on the situation. Mallard Parables draws inspiration from the stages of a duckling to a hen, friendly creatures we often observe strutting side by side or flying in spectacular, precise patterns overhead.
The outermost feathers of the Mallard are water-proofed. A special gland produces an oil that protects them from becoming water logged. When we’re “bogged down” by certain situations, be mindful of the duck smoothing its feathers to brush off excess weight and worry.
G.S. Gilmer believes in the form of a parable to tell a story. Parables are insightful, relevant and change with the seasons and the times.
By remaining focused on the wisdom and experience transcending global politics, Parables can speak to every generation, no matter what the chapter of life may be.

A Musical Gift cd recording contains a collection of Classical piano music and an instrumentation by GS Gilmer, offering melodies from the past while providing a sense of calm during these uncertain times.
Musical inspiration can be found at the base of the Appalachian Mountains from the abundance of nature, flora and fauna.
Known as a local talent in piano, GS Gilmer performed in venues from Chicago to Dallas.
The Birmingham News wrote that Gilmer’s original arrangement and performance of “Aria Variata,” BWV 989, had sprung “to life in a way that most Bach enthusiasts only dream of.”
